Submit a Discovery Request

When you submit a Discovery Request, the system will check which Interfaces have been listed and are marked as Active. On each of the active interfaces, it will run all the matching rules that were defined in the first tab.

Click the button.

The result of your submission will display under the Discovery Requests section, located along the bottom of the Interfaces Configuration tab.

Managing the Request

• Click to refresh the list of results that display under the Discovery Requests table. It may take a few minutes for the DPM system to return your results, and that time may vary based upon the parameters you entered prior to initiating the data discovery.

• Click the button to delete the results of a specific Discovery Request.

  Note: If you click the button, the system displays a dialog box, prompting “Are you sure you want to Delete Discovery Run Id:[number]?” Click the button to remove the selected Discovery Request from the system together with its results.

• Click the button to display high-level information about the submitted Request. This information describes the list of interfaces and filters that was used in this request, as in the example below.

  

  • click the line of the request in the table in order to display the results of the discovery process of a specific request. The results display on the Results tab, as described at the next page.
